You are all cordially invited for BINGO on Saturday May 6th.  As a thank you for all that you have done to support the youth here at St Matthias, we would like to thank you with a night of fun.

As a congregation your generosity is awesome and although we know you love buying our baked goods, eating our pancakes,  flocking your friends with flamingos and decorating with poinsettias; We also know you would love to come and play bingo, win prizes and share some laughs with us for FREE.  This is not a fundraiser, this is a thank you.

So join us on Saturday night, May 6th at 5pm.  We will have prizes for all ages, table snacks to munch on while you play and we promise you won’t have to pay us a dime.  There is a sign up sheet outside of the commons, so please let us know if you are coming.

Flamingo flocking refers to a form of lawn greeting.  It involves the placement of a "flock" of plastic pink flamingoes in someone's yard.

The mission team of 2017 is comprised of high school students, young adults and adults. They are headed to Navajo Nation in June to help with the community in whatever capacity is needed. This can be rebuilding schools, fixing homes, maintaining the land or any other task necessary to better the lives of the community. They will hear native stories and learn about the customs and culture of the Navajo Nation.

As you can imagine, the cost to make a trip like this is high and the team is working hard to earn their way. This flamingo flocking is a fun way for the group to work as a team and to engage the congregation in some good spirited pranking. This fundraiser is called Flamingo Flocking. A flocking consists of 20 pink flamingos that will be snuck on to the lawns of the recipient after dark by our mission team. You can flock and be flocked!

If you are flocked, you will be charged a removal donation fee of $20. However, you can purchase flamingo insurance for a donation of $15 that will protect your lawn from any flamingos landing in it.

Payments are accepted by cash or check. Please make checks payable to St Matthias and put "Flamingo Flocking" in the memo line. Orders will begin between services this Sunday, September 18th and will continue through Sunday October 2nd. Flocking will begin on September 29th and will continue on Thursday and Fridays until all orders have been filled.
