This commission believes, above all, that to maintain the church as a healthy body, members should strive to know and appreciate each other to the greatest extent possible. While the commission manages the operations activities that are needed to host social functions, its mission is far beyond just that. It hosts events that bring our membership together in Christian fellowship and allows our community to create lasting relationships built on a common bond and shared experiences. These functions include: Sunday morning coffee preparation, Summertime Lemonade on the lawn, Family Dinner Series, Strawberry Sundae, Annual Parish Picnic, Friday Night Cheers-Summer Months, Progressive Dinner, Charles Firth Memorial Pig Roast and Supper Groups.

Mark your calendars now for the Annual Parish Picnic

Sunday, May 21 and we'll have fun in the sun for all ages!

The picnic will take place, weather permitting, on the lawn after the 11 a.m. service. St. Matthias' will provide hamburgers and hotdogs and lemonade and water. Please bring your favorite picnic fare to share - fruit, vegetables, salads, side dishes, chips and dip, desserts - anything is game.

We'll have seating on the lawn but feel free to bring your picnic blanket and chairs if you prefer. There will be games and activities for the little ones, too.

Please keep your eyes open for sign up posters in the Commons and a Sign Up Genius online seeking help with setup and clean up on Sunday 5/21.

Please let us know if you have questions!  Meg Griffin, Beverley Norman
