PREPARED FOR LIFE

Troop 1829 is a very strong and active organization for the youth of our community. We have an extremely dedicated and active parent group. Our Scoutmasters and our many committed Assistant Scoutmasters, work hard to train all of our youth to achieve beyond their potential. We are a unit of the Huguenot Trail District of the Heart of Virginia Council. We enjoy living in a region where we have a plethora of history, wilderness, mountains and seashore as resources for shaping our scouts. Last, but certainly not least, we are excited to be associated with our charter organization, St. Matthias Episcopal Church.

Troop 1829’s goal is to help young women and men learn life and leadership skills while participating in monthly outings and community service. We encourage our Scouts to enjoy camping, canoeing, biking, backpacking and other rewarding adventures in the great outdoors. Highlights of our Troop include annual trips to a regional week-long summer camp and BSA’s High Adventure destinations. We take great pride in our excellent resources, including outstanding adults and exceptional equipment.
